OUR PRODUCT RANGE

We have two different products available to solve your problem.

Poly Ice Gelpacks and Poly Ice sheets

Poly Ice Gelpacks

Gelpacks are plastic bags filled with water, superabsorbent gel and a preservative added to prevent bacterial growth in the pack. Gelpacks are made of non-toxic materials that will remain a slow-flowing gel and therefore will not spill easily or cause contamination if the container breaks.

Benefits of using Poly Ice Gelpacks:

  • No melted ice in packaging
  • Keeps products fresher longer
  • Longer lasting frozen coolant properties
  • Easy to use, handle and prepare
  • Reduce spoilage during extended shipping

Available sizes

We have a wide range of sizes available from which the most popular are the following

  • GP 200g 100mm x 160mm – 50/box
  • GP 200g 100mm x 200mm – 50/box
  • GP 200g 150mm x 167mm – 50/box
  • GP 400g 150mm x 200mm – 25/box
  • GP 600g 150mm x 220mm – 16/box
  • GP 750g 150mm x 330mm – 13/box

Instructions to use:

  • Freeze gelpack at below -10ºC for at least 48hours.
  • Packs must be packed in such a manner that there is adequate air ventilation to properly cool the pack down to the required temperature.

Poly Ice Sheets

Poly Ice sheets are formed from various heat bonded materials forming small “pockets” filled with super absorbent powder.  No adhesives are used in the manufacturing process.  The smooth shiny side does not allow the passage of moisture.  The other side is a non-woven fabric that attracts fluid.  Inside the cell is an inert super absorbent powder, which forms a non-toxic gel as it absorbs and retains fluids.  The super absorbent powder absorbs many times its own weight and remains in the “gel” form, thereby preventing leaking.  The Poly Ice sheet can also be used as an absorbent sheet to absorb unwanted fluids during transportation

Benefits of using Poly Ice sheets:

  • Keeps products fresher longer
  • Longer lasting frozen coolant properties
  • Flexible when frozen
  • Won’t leak or spill
  • Serves as a packing pad in shipping
  • Weighs less than other comparable coolants
  • Easy to use, handle and prepare
  • Provides uniform cooling to your products eliminating hot spots
  • Reduce spoilage during extended shipping
  • Eliminates after-thaw absorption problems.

Available sizes

We have different sizes of Poly Ice sheets available.

  • 6 cells x 4 cells (350 sheets per box)
  • 6 cells x 3 cells (350 sheets per box)
  • 3 cells x 3 cells (700 sheets per box)

Why Us?

Poly Ice SA and the Environment

Poly Ice sheets and Gelpack’s are manufactured with renewable energy.

Disposal

For disposal of the bag after use – plastic bag can be recycled with normal plastic waste, gel can be disposed of with household waste to a landfill or incinerated. The super absorbent gel breaks down to water, nitrogen, and carbon dioxide after six weeks exposure to normal ultra-violet sunlight. We do not use UV stabilizers to manufacture the plastic bag.

Certification

Poly Ice sheets and Gelpacks are both manufactured in a ISO22 000 factory and can therefore be safely used to be in contact with food products and medicine.
